Advent Health presents The House Next Door Family 5K! One Event, Two Options.
Calling all families, runners, and walkers! Please join us for our Third Annual The House Next Door Family 5K. This year is the second year in a three year series, featuring a Firehouse. Last year was a Playhouse and next year will be a Greenhouse. Collect all three!
Join us as we enjoy a wonderful day to benefit the families in our community! Our services include: Mental health services, school-based services, in-home services and parenting, our agency has had a positive impact on families since 1976.

The beautiful paved trail (part of the Volusia Spring to Spring Trail) at Gemini Springs
Start is located in the “OK Corral” at Gemini Springs. No charge to enter the park and plenty of parking.

- Un-timed walk – East Trail
This is a family-focused charity event.

8:00 am 5K begins Runners and Walkers (timed)
8:15 am Family/Kid Fun Run (un-timed)
Award Ceremony immediately following the events.
The two course options are part of the Volusia Spring to Spring Trail initiative. The Gemini Springs trail is beautiful with a wide, paved path and wonderful natural surroundings. We will have two great options for the morning. Timed runners and walkers will use the trail going West, going out and back. Families with small children and/or strollers, etc. can go on the East side of the trail for a more casual, kid-friendly run/walk out and back.
5K timed Run $30
Price increases to $35 per individual on February 15, 2020.
1 mile Family Fun Run/Walk, un-timed $10 per person. (Participants will receive a shirt and enjoy a morning of family focused activities)

“Firehouse” Race medals for the timed 5K runners! Snacks and drinks will be available.
Race shirts guaranteed to all participants who register in advance. Sizes range from S – XXL. Please Note - Shirts and race packets are not guaranteed to late registrants. So please register by February 15 to make sure you get your size.
All finishers of the timed run will receive a medal! For the timed-run, finisher trophies will be given to the top, over-all female and male runners. Top three finishers in the different age categories will receive first, second, or third place lanyard medallion pins.

We will be hosting pre-packet pickup on Friday, March 6 from Noon - 6:30 p.m. at 804 N. Woodland Blvd., DeLand. T-shirts and race packets (bibs, etc) will be available.
Race packets and shirts will move to Gemini Springs on race day for pick up beginning at 7:00 am.
Race Timing/ Scoring
The race will be professionally timed and scored by Red Pointer Productions. Disposable, electronic chips will be attached to the bib number. In order to get the best read possible you need to wear your bib number unaltered on the front of your shirt pinned at all four corners. Do not have any clothing covering your bib number. Results will be posted onsite of the race and also online concluding the event at www.redpointerrunning.com

All timed run participants receive a finisher medal upon completion of the event.
There is plenty of parking at Gemini Springs, with “spillover” parking close by.
Can I participate in the event with my dog?
Sorry, pets are not allowed to participate in the event.
Can I participate with a stroller?
Yes, you are welcome to participate with a stroller. The East trail family fun run/walk will be the better option if you have a stroller.
What do I do with my personal items while I’m running?
There will not be a drop off station at the event.
Should I bring my own water?
We will have water stations on this course and water available at the finish line as well.
I will be out of town on race day and not able to participate. Can I get my money returned?
Sorry, we cannot issue refunds for the event. We appreciate your registration as it contributes to vital programs fostering The House Next Door’s mission to nurture and empower families to help build strong communities.
Will the race be held if it's raining?
The race is a "rain or shine" event. All participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather, such as in a raincoat, poncho, or hat. Umbrellas can pose a safety hazard to others, so please do not bring them.
What will be provided after the race?
Snacks and water will be available at the finish line. An awards ceremony will take place immediately following the race and there will be a variety of family activities.
Can I transfer my entry to someone else?
We have a strict NO TRANSFER policy.
