VETERANS 5k BUDDY RUN/WALK

“No One Left Behind”

Thursday, November 10th, 2016 @ 7:00pm.

Fort Lauderdale Beach Park

• The Buddy Run/Walk is run entirely on the beach at night.
• The Veterans  5k Buddy Run/Walk is primarily a team event with 2 or 4 individuals on each team.
• It also has an Open Individual run/walk.
• The course is entirely on the beach starting at Fort Lauderdale Beach Park, north to just beyond Vistamar Street before turning back to the start/finish line.

 
BUDDY RUN/WALK TEAMS:

ALL CIVILIAN TEAMS

• Comprised of four (4) or two (2) individuals, either all male, all female or co-ed.
• All members of each team must cross the finish line within 5 seconds of each other.
• Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
• Any team finishing with less than the required members will also be disqualified.
• No team will abandon, or leave a member behind.

MILITARY TEAMS

• A Military Team must have at least ONE "Service Member" on it.
• Military Teams automatically have a 25% discount.
• A Service member is a Veteran, a Reservist, in the National Guard or on Active Duty.
• At check-in, ONE service member must show one of the following: a valid military ID, Veterans Administration ID card, driver license with "V", DD214 with valid state ID.
• All members of each team must cross the finish line within 5 seconds of each other.
• Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
• Any team finishing with less than required members will also be disqualified.
• No team will abandon, or leave a member behind.

We can help you draft a "free agent", just contact us below and we will hook your team up with a veteran or service member. Just let us know the gender and the approximate 5k time you are looking for.

SAFETY

• It is strongly recommended that participants wear shoes. Glass and other objects might be buried in the sand and cannot be seen.
• There is one water station at the Vistamar turn around point.
• You will receive a red glow bracelet to be worn on your left wrist to warn approaching runners/walkers of your presence.
