Paws for a Cause Virtual 5K

Due to COVID, the Paws for a Cause 5K will be a virtual race this year, taking place between April 23-May 9th. Run at your leisure and submit your times.  All finishers receive a finisher medal and a dry fit tank or t-shirt.

EVENT
The LCMS Paws for a Cause 5K is going virtual this year!  Registration includes a custom Shirt. Download the race RaceJoy app and run/walk your 5K.  The app will automatically upload your official time. There is also an option to manually enter your 5K time. This is the 6th year for the Paws for a Cause 5K which will benefit the LCMS Sports Programs, providing equipment, uniforms, and sports scholarships for students.

Finisher Medals for First 400 registered - The top male and female participants in each of the following categories will also receive a trophy: 9 & Under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 & over

RESULTS
Download the raceRaceJoy app before you run/walk your 5K and the app will automatically upload your official time to this website. There is also an option to manually enter your 5K time if your unable to use the RaceJoy app.

FAQ
When and where does the race take place?

Run at a time most convenient for you between the dates of April 23rd and May 9th.  Use the RaceJoy app to track and submit your times, or manually upload your time once you've ran/walked your 5K.

How long is the course?
A 5K is 3.1 miles.

How will I be timed?
You will time yourself using the RaceJoy app or will manually time yourself running/walking a 5K and record your time. 

When and where do I pick up my registration materials?
Registration materials will be digital.  Finisher medals and shirts can be picked up at LCMS on May 14th from 4-6 pm.  Students can pick up any time after May 12th in Mrs. Capp's room (2-210). 

How will I receive my results?
Official results will be posted at race website. Participants will have the option to use the RaceJoyApp or manual load their finishing time

Who gets a T-shirt?
Only pre-registered runners that successfully complete the registration and payment processes by May 1st are guaranteed a free race t-shirt. There will be shirts available after that date, but sizes and shirts are not guaranteed.

Can I participate in the event with my dog?
Sure, this is a virtual race, so you can run anywhere!  

Can I participate with a stroller or Bike?
As long as you feel safe doing so. 

I am not able to participate. Can I get my money returned?
We appreciate your race registration. We are unable to issue refunds. We are not able to credit your credit card or issue checks. Luckily, there is a 17-day window to complete your race. 

Will the race be held if it's raining?
Since this is a virtual race, pick your favorite weather to run/walk in.  

Can I transfer my entry to someone else?
We have a strict NO TRANSFER policy.
