Mighty Mujer Triathlon Miami is an all-female sprint-distance race. It starts with a 400-yard swim. The course then takes athletes on a 11-mile bike route. The race finishes with a 3-mile run around the park lake (2 loops).
Women who weigh 165 lbs or more can compete against other women in their age group or against other women who weigh 165 lbs or more ("Athenas"). Women who weigh under 165 lbs do not qualify to race in the Athena division. Athena divisions are (39 and under/40 and over).
ENTRY FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON TRANSFERRABLE. Participants also may choose to donate their fee to our charity partner. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to request donation.
Participants racing individually may form a team with her girlfriends or family members! Each member of a team enters individually and indicates her team name on the race entry. They will compete against other teams in the same distance division in two separate categories: MOTHER-DAUGHTER and GIRLFRIENDS. Teams can consist of 2 women (Mother-Daughter) or 4 women (Girlfriends). The fastest average overall time wins in the category. Women who enter as a team and do not win the team category will stay in the running for Age Group and Athena awards. Swim Buddy participants CAN NOT race as MOTHER-DAUGHTER or GIRLFRIENDS teams.
Mighty Mujer Triathlon is an empowering all-female race; athletes must be 11 years old (by December 2020) or older to participate.
Relay teams consist of 2 or 3 women participants completing the swim-bike-run together. For a 3-person relay team, person 1 swims, person 2 bikes, and person 3 runs. For a 2-person relay team, two teammates complete the event in any combination.
We have partnered with Diversity in Aquatics to bring new and experienced open water swimmers to the sport of triathlon. Participants who register and mark that they are using a swim buddy devise on the registration will not be scored with Athena or Age group divisions or in relay, Mother-Daughter or Girlfriend teams.
