The Great Skunk Ape Adventure Hunt and Trail Run

Join in the fun and adventure at Werner-Boyce Salt Springs State Park in this event to run (or walk) some fantastic trails brand new to the park. This is all levels welcome, family friendly event, that will be fun for all from the seasoned trail runner to the casual explorer as this is really 2 events in one!  A 10k trail run for the seasoned trail runner to explore new areas in the park AND/OR the family friendly Skunk Ape Adventure Hunt, a game, a walk/run, fun and at your pace. You will be enjoying the wonders of the Werner Boyce Salt Springs State Park. You can run the trails or walk and be on the lookout for the Skunk Ape while searching for tokens and clues to sightings. Your adventure will start at the Skunk Ape Headquarters where you will receive a Field guide, Skunk Ape food, Skunk Ape hunt training, and then once you get your Skunk Ape Hunting Permit, you are ready to hunt for Skunk Ape along well marked trails of your chosen length. Your goal is to collect the tokens at the sites of Skunk Ape possible sightings. You will have a time limit to explore but no rush you will have plenty of time to collect tokens and take pictures of possible sightings. You must return the tokens to the Skunk Ape Headquarters before 11:30 am to receive your super awesome T-Shirt, fantastic unique finishers medal, and be eligible for cool raffles and give aways at the after party! Each token earned gives you a better chance of winning! This is an unchipped untimed event. Once you have finished your hunt you can enjoy food and soda included with your registration! All race participants are eligible for wonderful prizes and give aways at the after party, every token you earn on your Skunk Ape Hunt is another ticket of entry, so keep a lookout for clues!
