Description

A Flat and Fast 3.10 mile course in Historic Downtown Sanford along the gorgeous Lake Monroe waterfront. Individuals and Company Teams are encouraged to run or walk this chip-timed 5k benefiting Kids House Children’s Advocacy Center, Seminole County’s child abuse prevention and treatment center. This evening run/walk will be chip-timed. All participants will receive a race bib with Timing Chip

For 15 years, Kids House has been a safe and caring place where child victims of abuse can find compassionate care and healing. Last year alone, Kids House helped heal over 2,000 children.

***You may sign up without selecting a division. You do NOT need to have a Company/Team in order to run and be scored individually ALL individuals will be scored individually regardless of Company/Team status Deadline for forming a team is October 19, 2016.

PARKING
Parking is plentiful next to the race start location and around the park

RESTRICTIONS
For safety concerns, wheelchairs, baby jogger/strollers, in-line skates, skateboards, and dogs will not be allowed on the course.

TIMING & SCORING
Race will be timed and scored with a disposable chip provided, which will be attached to the back of the bib

When and where does the race take place?
Saturday, October 22, 2016.  

How long is the course?
3.1 miles 

How will I be timed?
The race uses an electronic timing system that records race time and place via a disposable transponder chip that will be given out at registration. Each individual competing in the 2 Mile is required to use the race chip. Official times will not be recorded without a chip. There will be a clock at the finish line to view your time.

How will I receive my results?
Official results are posted for the top runners and in the categoris awards are provided.  Race staff has all results for on-site inquiries and results are posted on www.finalmileracemanagement.com

Can I use my own race chip or tag rather than utilizing the one that is provided?
No, personalized chips will be provided to each participant.  

Who gets a T-shirt?
Only pre-registered runners that successfully complete the registration and payment processes before the race are guaranteed a free race t-shirt. 

Can I participate in the event with my dog?
Yes, but you will have to keep the dog on a leash and start in the back especially if you are walking. 

Should I bring my own water?
You can, but there will be a water stations on the course. 

How do I register?
You may register online (preferred method) or through paper application. 

I will be out of town on race day and not able to participate. Can I get my money returned?
We appreciate your race registration but we are unable to issue refunds. We are not in a position to credit your credit card or issue checks.

Will the race be held if it's raining?
The race is a "rain or shine" event. All participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather, such as in a rain coat or hat. Umbrellas can pose a safety hazard to others, so please do not bring them.

What will be provided after the race?
Overall Awards, Dunkin Dounuts, ice pops

Can I transfer my entry to someone else?
Yes.

Free parking is available all around Fort Mellon Park
