Dear Race Supporters, The Board of Spay N Save Animal Clinic has made the decision to postpone this year's Fast and the Furriest race, for the safety of participants, volunteers and staff. We hope to reschedule for Spring or Fall 2021. We apologize for the wayward email which went out last week.
Anyone who has already registered, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know if you would rather receive a refund, or donate your $25 registration to our Spay It Forward fund. We thank you for your support and understanding, and hope you will continue to support Spay N Save in other ways in the meantime.
The Fast and The Furriest 5K

It wasn't too long ago that we were trying to save them all through rescue and adoption. We realized that there were just too many. And a piece of the puzzle was missing... Prevention through spaying and neutering. Spay N Save was born in 2012 as a nonprofit, high-quality, low-cost spay and neuter clinic. Located in Central Florida (where cats can have 2+ litters / year and shelter euthanasia rates are as high as 70%, which was 17,316 animals in 2016), the need was overwhelming. In just 6 short years, Spay N Save has already performed more than 52,500 surgeries on dogs and cats. In that same time, county shelter intakes have gone down more than 27%, reducing greatly the number of animals being killed. Please help us continue to save more lives by signing up for our 5K today!
There are several options for participating! The Fast and The Furriest 5k is:
-First, a chip-timed race for runners.
-Walkers are welcome too!
-A fun run/walk for people & their dog -- including a dog costume contest with prizes! (Walkers & people with dogs begin after the runners.)
-A virtual run! (You'll get a t-shirt & the good deed of participating without getting up early!)

How long is the course?
Standard 5K, 3.1 miles
How will I be timed?
The race uses an electronic timing system that records race time and place via a transponder chip that will be given out at registration. Each individual competing in the 5K is required to use the race chip. Official times will not be recorded without a chip. There will be a clock at the finish line to view your time.
When and where do I pick up my registration materials?
Registration and packet pick-up starts at 7 a.m. for all participants
How will I receive my results?
Official results will be posted at race site and race staff has all results for on-site inquiries. Results will be posted online.
Can I use my own race chip or tag rather than utilizing the one that is provided?
No, a custom chip and bib will be provided.
Who gets a T-shirt?
Only pre-registered runners that successfully complete the registration and payment processes ten weekdays before the race are guaranteed a free race T-shirt. There will be shirts available on race day, but correct sizes and shirts are not guaranteed.
Can I participate with a stroller or Bike?
For safety reasons no bicycles, in-line skates, or skateboards or stollers are permitted.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, we will have a 5k fun run for people with dogs. We do require that you start at the back of the 5k group, allowing runners without dogs to go first. There will also be a costume contest for dogs, with fabulous prizes for the dogs & their parents -- grand prize for the parents is tickets to Universal Studios!
What do I do with my personal items while I’m running?
Please leave them in your car.
Should I bring my own water?
Yes, but there will be a water station on the course and near the finish line.
I will be out of town on race day and not able to participate. Can I get my money returned?
We appreciate your race registration. As the race brochure states, we are unable to issue refunds. We are not in a position to credit your credit card or issue checks.
Will the race be held if it's raining?
The race is a "rain or shine" event. All participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather, such as in a rain coat or hat. Umbrellas can pose a safety hazard to others, so please do not bring them.
Can I transfer my entry to someone else?
We have a strict NO TRANSFER policy.
