New Style Event Shirt for 2020

We are introducing a new style shirt for the 2020 Seaside School Half Marathon & 5K. This is not your ordinary finisher T-shirt. This poly-blend shirt is made from a soft, lightweight jersey that delivers lasting comfort and an easy style perfect for a run.   This shirt is also a great casual wear piece, just what you want to kick around in after your run. The sizing of this shirt is modeled after the Nike Performance Line. Our team is happy to answer questions about the new shirts (race@runseasidefl.com).

Race Benefit to Seaside School

100% of the race profits benefit the Seaside School, a tuition-free, local neighborhood school serving students who not only live along Hwy. 30-A, but also across Walton County. The Seaside School opened in 1996 to thirty-six students, two faculty members, and one administrator serving students in sixth through eighth grades. Today, the school has expanded to fifth through twelfth grades serving over 330 students and currently looking to add grades K-4.

Every year, the gap between The Seaside School standard of excellence and the funding provided by the state seems to grow more and more. There are either funding cuts or we simply want more for the students. In any case, the shortfall is significant each year. Whether you’re a runner, sponsor, or enjoying the Taste of the Race, please know that your support is needed and appreciated. Your participation reduces class size. Your participation provides middle school and high school students the opportunity to participate in elective classes for gardening, music, art, an award-winning robotics program, advanced placement classes, as well as career-readiness industry certification courses.

Your race participation makes a great impact, and here’s what some of our 7th and 8th grade students are saying:

“…I like the mentoring program because it is a great opportunity for us to learn about different jobs and what people do...” - 7th grade girl

“…My favorite thing about SNS is the small class sizes because we have more hands-on activities and one on one time…I have learned to be more organized…” – 7th grade boy

“…My favorite thing about SNS is the great teachers that make my learning fun and interactive…” - 7th grade boy

“…My favorite thing about SNS is the race weekend and how all the students participate and help with everything…” - 8th grade girl

“…I have learned to be a great leader and role model...” - 8th grade girl

“…I have learned to be awesome at the piano and base...” - 7th grade boy

“…I have learned to be creative, hardworking, and how to work hard with others...” - 7th grade girl
