The Air Force Enlisted Village is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that provides a home for surviving spouses of retired enlisted Air Force members at Bob Hope Village (active, independent living) and Hawthorn House (assisted living and memory support) in Shalimar, FL near Eglin AFB and Hurlburt Field. This race is named in honor of the Air Force Enlisted Village's late President and CEO James C. Binnicker who served our country as the 9th Chief Master Sergeant of the United States Air Force. As AFEV President and CEO, Binnicker had dreams of providing world-class, yet affordable, homes for surviving spouses of retired enlisted USAF members and to mothers of current active duty and retired military members. Under Binnicker's leadership from 2000 to 2015, the Air Force Enlisted Village constructed Hawthorn House, a 64-unit assisted living and memory support residence on the Bob Hope Village campus, and grew the campus to by an additional ninety-six apartments now known as Village 5. The campus now houses 352 apartments and nearly 500 residents. Binnicker passed away in March of 2015, but his dream and memory live on at Bob Hope Village.

Registrants receive a challenge coin and a t-shirt. An after party with food from Magnolia Grill, beverages, music, and awards will be held after the race. The following awards will be given for male and female runners for the 9K and 5K: Overall, Grandmaster, Master, 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-99.

Online registration ends at 11:59am on Wednesday, September 19, 2018. Packet pick-up and last-minute registrations will be at 30 Holly Ave in the Bob Hope Commons Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 4-8pm and Friday, September 21, 2018 from 4pm to 7pm. There will be race day registration from 6-6:30am.

Parking will be at Longwood Elementary until that lot is full. Runners will then be directed to the Sunset Lane entrance of Bob Hope Village to park in lots on the north side of campus. A bus will be running from lots to the event space. Parking in lots in front of Bob Hope Village through the Holly Avenue gate is reserved for sponsors, distinguished visitors, volunteers, and staff and will be closed from 6:40-9:00 AM for the safety of runners.
