5th Annual PARR for the Course 5K Race & 1 Mile Fun Run

Please join us Friday, April 8 on one of the most unique 5K courses in the Tampa Bay area. Enjoy this beautiful yet challenging 3.1-mile course as it winds its way through the lush, wooded grounds of the Babe Zaharias golf course. Surrounded by the quaint charm of Forest Hills, this race offers a flat, fast run sure to appeal to all levels of runners.

The 5K starts promptly at 6:30 pm and will be chip timed by TRC Race Management.

For those that do not wish to participate in the 5K, but want to join in the fun, there will also be a 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk immediately following the 5K. Have questions? See the FAQ section at the bottom of this page or email us at info@parrfoundation.org.

We are going to have a great Post-Race Party featuring music, FREE BEER, and great food samples from area restaurants. Food and beverages are available starting at 6:45 pm.

5K March 1 - March 31: $30.00

5K April 1 - April 7: $35.00

5K April 8 (Day of Race): $40.00

5K Youth (14 & Under): $20.00

Registration includes T-shirts for each runner* and great food and drinks at our Post-Race Party. (*shirts are only guaranteed for those registered and paid by 3/24/22)

Awards:  Top Male & Top Female 5K Finishers as well as top three males and females in each age group. 

Pets on a leash are permitted onsite and in the 1 Mile event, but no pets are permitted in the 5K Race.

Pre-race Party & Packet Pickup!

Come for packet pickup and stay for our exciting Pre-Race Party at Brass Tap in Carrollwood, taking place Thursday, April 7 starting at 5:00 pm. There will be great food, drink, and entertainment, with Brass Tap generously donating a portion of the proceeds to support the PARR Foundation. Registration will also be available. Brass Tap is located at 10047 N Dale Mabry Hwy in Tampa.

Proceeds go to benefit the PARR Foundation.

What the PARR Foundation does:

• Serves the community by connecting research, education, and clinical care for people living with limb loss.
• Supports unique athletic and recreational events in which persons living with limb loss can participate.
• Helps facilitate amputees, who may not have the means, to receive prosthetics necessary to help them live their lives to the fullest potential.
• Engages in advocacy initiatives to improve the quality of life for persons living with limb loss.

FAQ:

Can I register in person?

Registration is available through 4/7 at Running Center and Babe Zaharias Golf Course. Registration will also be available on 4/7 at Brass Tap Packet Pickup 5-9:00 pm and on the day of the race at Babe Zaharias beginning at 4 pm. Cash or check only at Running Center.

How can my business become a sponsor?

Will early packet pick-up be available?

You will be able to pick up your packets at Feet First on Tuesday, April 5 from 10 am to 5 pm, at The Running Center on Wednesday, April 6 from 10 am to 6 pm, or at our pre-race party at Brass Tap in Carrollwood on Thursday, April 7 at 5:00 pm to 9 pm. A portion of the food proceeds goes to benefit the PARR Foundation. Registration and packet pickup will be available. The Running Center is located at 14308 North Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa. Brass Tap is located at 10047 N Dale Mabry Hwy in Tampa.

Will I be guaranteed a commemorative t-shirt?

You are only guaranteed a t-shirt if you registered and paid by 3/24/22. After that, it will be first-come, first-serve while supplies last.

Can I register and pay on the day of the race?

Starting at 4 pm, you can register and pay at the higher day-of rates. Cash, check or credit card is accepted. T-shirts are not guaranteed for day-of registrations.

What time does the race start?

The 5K begins promptly at 6:30 pm with the 1-mile fun run beginning at approximately 7:30 pm. Allow extra time if you will be registering or picking up your packet that day.

What do I need to do on the day of the race?

Try to arrive at Babe Zaharias Golf Course between 5-6 pm. If you did not already pick up your packet at the Running Center, proceed to the pavilion for registration and/or race packet pick-up.

Will my race be timed?

The 5K is computer timed with MyLaps disposable chips and the 1 mile is clock timed. Awards will be based on these results.

Where can I see my race results?

Results will be posted onsite continually as runners finish, with the complete results posted upon the completion of the race. Results will also be posted online at runsignup.com/parrforthecourse/results & on coolrunning.com.

Will I receive an award?

Medals and gift bags will be given to the overall top male and female runners. Medals will be given to the top 3 runners in each age bracket in 5-year increments. Finisher medals will be available for the first 325 registered for the 5K race.

Can I run with a stroller?

Wagons, running strollers, baby strollers, or any other form of the stroller are permitted in the 5K and 1 Mile, however, you must start at the back of the pack. Please note, our event insurance DOES NOT COVER THESE ACTIVITIES: BIKES, SKATEBOARDS, BABY JOGGERS, STROLLERS, WAGONS, ROLLERBLADES.

Are pets permitted?

Pets on a leash are permitted on-site and can participate in the 1 Mile Fun Run. Pets are NOT permitted in the 5K race.

Are spectators allowed?

Yes, spectators are allowed and encouraged to watch from a safe vantage point along the course.

Can I get a refund?

There will be no refunds for no-shows, weather or course conditions, or pandemics.

Is there a post-race party?

ABSOLUTELY! An incredible party featuring music, FREE BEER*, and great food samples from area restaurants! And it’s all FREE with your paid event registration. *Must be 21 or over with a valid ID for beer samples.
