Description

The 3rd Annual Ben Strong 5K is an annual event inspired by and dedicated to Ben “Strong” to help a local family battling Leukemia. Please join us in the race against Leukemia.  Enjoy music, raffles and plenty of fun at the after party!

We are very proud to partner with Brittany’s Wish to offer the Wagon’s Run-Walk-Push-Pull at this year’s race.

Brittany's Wish provides a range of support to families in Central Florida ?with children (age infant to 19) receiving treatment for all types of leukemia.  Learn more at www.brittanyswish.org.

COURSE
The Ben Strong" 5K course starts on Main Street Titusville east of US -1 and runs east to Indian River Ave. Runners turn south on India River Ave and east on St. Johns to Riverside.  Turn around (U-turn) at Terrier Way on Riverside and head north on Riverside to St Johns, north on Indian River Ave and west on Main Street finishing in The Commons parking lot behind Playalinda Brewing Company.

Only pre-registered runners that successfully complete the registration and payment process by March 10th are guaranteed a free race shirt.

Top Female and Male Masters (40+)
Top 3 male and female age groups will receive awards. Age groups include 8 & under, 9-11, 12-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+

PROCEEDS
The event is presented by Hometown Hope, Inc., a local non-profit organization aimed at helping families in crisis.  Proceeds from the Ben Strong 5k benefit a local family with a child suffering from Leukemia.

TIMING & SCORING
This is a chip timed event where all participants receive a chip that is attached to the back of the bib. It's very important that you wear your bib.

How long is the course?             
5K is 3.1 miles

How will I be timed? 
There will be a clock and all participants will have a chip attached to the back of the bib number. There will also be a clock at the finish line to view your time.  

Can I participate in the event with my dog? 
Sorry, as much as we love our pets too, the safety of participants is our main concern. Therefore, we do not allow pets on the course.

I will be out of town on race day and not able to participate. Can I get my money returned?
We appreciate your race registration. As the race brochure states, we are unable to issue refunds. We are not in a position to credit your credit card or issue checks. 

Will the race be held if it's raining?
The race is a "rain or shine" event. All participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather, such as in a rain coat or hat. Umbrellas can pose a safety hazard to others, so please do not bring them.

Event Benefits

BEN STRONG 5K

Titusville resident, Ben Swanson, was diagnosed with with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia Philidelphia Chromosome Positive. Unfortunately Ben passed away in December.  Prior to his passing, Ben's wish was to keep the Ben Strong 5K alive and raise funds to support other cancer vistims within Brevard County.  Watch the video below to learn more about Ben and his Legacy.

WAGON'S RUN~WALK~PUSH~PULL

Wagon's Run~Walk~Push~Pull is an annual event in honor of and inspired by Chuck "Wagon" McRoberts and his desire to help Central Florida children battling leukemia.  This event is open to runners, walkers, wheelchairs and wagons/strollers.  Proceeds from this race benefit Brittany's Wish and their effort to help kids kick leukemia.

The Course

The folowing map shows the start and finish of the Ben Strong 5K.  The rest of course runs down Indian River Ave left on St Johns to Riverside.  U-turn on Riverside near Terrier Way and return along that same route.
