The Be Grateful 5k and Fun run hosted by the Family Life Center of First Baptist Church Gainesville is in honor of our long-time friend Kellie Pirkle. Kellie was an employee/fitness instructor of our facility for many years and impacted so many church and community members by her pursuit to help others reach their fitness goals. Her dedication to others and her ability to encourage everyone no matter where they were in life was amazing to witness. Each year we will continue to honor her legacy by hosting our annual 5k/fundraiser. The hope is with the funding received by generous donations, sponsorships, and race registration is that we can start making important and transformative updates and renovations to our 37-year-old facility. Our goal is to make a lasting impact on our local community and within the church by offering programming and activities that fuel the mind, body, and spirit.

The Family Life Center has ministered to our community for years, and we have reached a pivotal time to give our facility the TLC it needs to further our ministry. 100% of the proceeds from the Be Grateful 5k + 1 Mile Walk/Run will go to overdue needs so we can keep serving our church and community for decades to come.
