Directions to the Starting Line: The race start line is located approximately 3 miles South of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, Willow Grove exit, near the intersection of Route 611 (Old York Road) and Susquehanna Road, past Abington Memorial Hospital.

Course Info:

Starting Line: Runners and walkers will begin from the starting line on Huntingdon Road and Guernsey Avenue.

5K Runners: The run will take you through a quiet, residential area of Abington Township with rolling hills and will finish Olympic style on the track at Memorial Field.

2 Mile Walkers: Walkers will walk through a predominantly flat course with the last mile being parallel to the runner's final mile. Families, strollers, and all ages of participants are encouraged to join. This course is not timed.

Parking Info: Parking is available at the following locations: Wells Fargo Bank, Behind Vintage Restaurant, Abington Free Library, Lot located behind the Abington Municipal Building, Abington Presbyterian Church, Abington Junior High.

Race Day Schedule:

7:30 AM - Registration Begins

8:30 AM - Registration Closes

8:50 AM – Opening Ceremony

9:00 AM – 5k run begins with staggered start

9:15 AM – 2mi walk begins

Award ceremony to follow the close of the race

Registration is open through 8:30 AM on Thursday, November 25.

FAQs

Q: Can I register at the Race?

Yes. We suggest registering through our website even on Race Day. This can be done on your mobile device or computer or at our Registration station on one of our devices. This is the fastest way to register. Registration will close at 8:30 AM on Race Day when the Opening Ceremony begins.

If you’d like to pay cash, you will need to visit one of our Registration stations to use our devices.

Shirts and medals are not guaranteed on Race Day. Please consider registering before October 31st to secure your shirt and size.

Q: If I register on Race Day to run the 5k, will I still get a bib?

Yes, all participants running the 5k will receive a chipped bib. Early registrants will receive a Gobble Wobble limited edition bib. Later registrants, including Race Day registrants, will receive a bib, but it may not be the limited edition version.

Q: What are the awards?

Awards will be given to the overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place runners. Awards will also be given to the 1st place runner in each age bracket. Age brackets are 10 year increments.

Q: Is there childcare available during the race?

No childcare will be provided by the YMCA during the race. The course is stroller-friendly.

Q: Do I need to register my child?

Children under 3 years old do not need to register. 

Q: Are there refreshments?

We will have bottled water and wrapped snacks available for runners after the race. Our friends at Dunkin’ Donuts have donated coffee and snacks as well.

Q: Can I get a refund?

No refunds are given.

Q: Where does my donation go?

All proceeds from the YMCA Gobble Wobble 5K help support crucial YMCA programs and services to more than 250,000 people every year. With your participation, we will be able to continue to provide financial assistance to thousands of members of our community to improve their mental and physical health and provide safe, trusted care for their children.

Q: When do I pick up my race packet?

Packet Pickup will be Monday, 11/22 through Wednesday, 11/24 from 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM or Race Day from 7:00 AM - 8:30 AM. You can also pick up your packet on Race Day before the race begins.

Q: Is race swag/merchandise guaranteed for each participant?

Participants who sign up after 11:59 PM on November 23, 2021 will not be guaranteed to receive a shirt or medal on race day. All participants who registered after this time will be able to receive a shirt and medal at post-event swag pickup.

We will provide pickup instructions to participants after the race.

Q: What COVID-specific safety measures are you taking? Do I need to wear a mask?

We will continue to follow Abington Township and Montgomery County regulations. We will practice social distancing. The 5k will have a staggered start based on pace groups. Masks are not required at this time. Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the venue.

Any updates to COVID regulations will be communicated through social media, email, or website updates.

Q: What happens if there is inclement weather?

This is a rain or shine event. No refunds will be given.

Q: Are pets allowed at the race?

No, pets are not permitted on the course.

Q: Where will the results be posted?

Results are available in several ways:  after you cross the finish line, proceed to the table in the parking lot where the Second Wind Racing truck is located.  A representative will pull your time and give you a QR Code for all results.  You will also receive an email with your results shortly after the race ends.  Age Group winners (first place male and female in each age group) will be at the Y awards table as soon as they are available. The results will be shared from Second Wind Timing Company and be posted on our website page HERE.
