Description
The Respond Now 5K Run/Walk for Hunger begins at Bicentennial Park in Olympia Fields, Illinois, and takes participants through a scenic, tree-lined neighborhood. Serious runners love the flat, fast, USATF certified course, and helping a great cause. Casual runners and walkers love the healthy, fun way to be a part of the efforts to combat hunger in the south suburbs. Participants wil be encouraged to gather sponsors and bring out family, friends and neighbors to support them and Respond Now. All proceeds will go directly to Respond Now's work to fight hunger. In addition to the race, volunteers will be collecting food donations at the event from particpants and community members.

Course description: Flat, Fast Course located at Bicentennial Park. This race showcases the charm of Olympia Fields and takes participants through a scenic tree-lined neighborhood.

Parking: Designated parking is located at Bicentennial Park, the Metra train station lot, and the nearby Baptist church. Participants parking in the Bicentennial lot may leave after the race ends at 11:30. We highly encourage participants who arrive early, and any volunteers, to park in further lots. While the parking lot is spacious, other people are hosting events in the park at the same time.
Awards info: Age Group Male and Female Awards: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+. Medals are given to the first three finishers in each age group and the top two overall male and female finishers.
