COVID-19
COVID-19 has thrown our worlds into chaos. The uncertainty that hangs over our heads each day makes it hard to function. As athletes ourselves, we know that a simple race can mean the world when it comes to restoring normalcy.
With an event like our triathlon, planning starts months ahead of time. In order to be properly prepared for the race in June, we would have to begin now. Without a timeline as to when this virus will release it's grasp on the world, we need to concentrate on today.
Our committee has discussed the situation at length, and it's with heavy hearts that we must announce the cancellation of the 2020 Lincoln Park Triathlon. This decision was not made lightly, but with the safety of all our athletes and volunteers in mind.
We hope you all understand. Please stay safe, wash your hands, and keep those affected by the virus in your thoughts.

More Info
Swim - The 500 meter swim portion will take place in the lake, with a shallow water start. Athletes will begin in waves, separated by age. The course will be a quasi-rectangular shape and will be marked by buoys – stay to the right of the buoys! There will be lifeguards, volunteer kayakers, and the local Fire Department in the water to keep an eye on swimmers and render assistance should it be necessary.
Bike - The 10 mile bike portion is a 2-loop flat and fast course that takes riders through the neighborhood streets of Lincoln Park. Most of the roads are open to cars but we will have police and volunteers controlling traffic and assisting riders.
Run - The 5k run portion will be an out-and-back on flat, paved roads. The rods are NOT closed to traffic, though traffic is minimal and should not be an issue. There will be two water stations on the course, as well as another water table at the finish.
