Description
Bill Scully was killed in a tragic accident on the night of November 15 2022.
Bill was the father of 3 amazing children. He retired from the NJ Army National Guard after 20 years of service. He worked as a Guidance Counselor at Sterling High School where he was also the head girls and boys volleyball coach. Bill coached Special Olympics soccer and bocce ball teams. He was a soccer coach for the Deptford Fusion soccer team for many years. He coached for both the Tarkill Soccer Club and Stratford Athletic Organization, in addition to serving on both governing boards. During his time with Tarkill and SAO, he created Challenger soccer and baseball leagues providing children with disabilities the opportunity to participate with their peers in athletics. He previously worked at the Archway Upper School and Lindenwold Middle School as a special education teacher. During the summer, Bill worked as a camp counselor for Camp Sunnyside which is a special needs day camp offered in Camden County.
Over the past year, $7000 in scholarships were given to deserving seniors with backgrounds in the performing arts, volleyball, soccer, and special education. Donations were given to local Down syndrome and disability awareness groups. Valuable supplies focusing on developing vocational skills were donated to special education programs at Sterling High School. Our hope is to continue and expand these efforts.
We are asking participants to wear royal blue. Thank you for your continued support.
