McCarren Park Track Classic (2016)

The North Brooklyn Runners are proud to present the 5th Annual McCarren Park Track Classic on April 22nd at 6:30pm.

UPDATE: Due to our track meet coinciding with the start of Passover, we will hold additional heats of the mile and relays on Thursday April 21st 2016 at 7:30 pm (women's heats first) for anyone observing the holiday the next day. Unfortunately, we will not be able to close off the track but results will be included in the official results and prizes awarded accordingly. We apologize that we cannot move the meet to a different date but permits for park space are highly competitive and this was the date we were given. We strive to be as accommodating and inclusive as possible to everyone in the community and hope this will help to achieve that goal. - McCarren Park Classic Race Directors

If you plan to race on this alternative date, register for the track meet as normal, but select that you will be racing on this alternative date (April 21). 

Also, by popular demand, we will have Matzah at the meet on Friday.

The featured event of the evening will be the McCarren Classic Mile, but participants also have the opportunity to compete in the Sprint Medley Relay and the 4x400 Meter Relay and to cheer on the young track stars in the Kids Dash.

Order of Events:

6pm Registration Opens
6:30pm Kids Dash (day of registration only, $5.00)
7pm McCarren Classic Mile (separate women's and men's heats)*
Sprint Medley Relay (200, 200, 400, 800) - Women's, Men's & Coed Teams
4x400 Meter Relay - Women's, Men's & Coed Teams

*women will run first

Registration

$15.00

Think of this as an "all access pass." Registration gets you access to all the running events (mile and relays) - whether you run one race or all of them is up to you.

Relay teams will be registered/logged on race day but all members of a team must be registered individually

Registeration includes a free t-shirt for those registering through March 31st.

Race caps at 200 participants.

Limited registration will be available on race day for $25.00

Transportation

Subway: The closest stops are Bedford Ave (L) and Nassau (G)

Car: There is limited street parking around the track.

Bike: There are several CitiBike stations around the park.

Run: Need a great warm-up? Run to the start.
