The George Wodicka, Hook Half Marathon is a long-standing community half-marathon locally known for its challenging hill climb in the last few miles.  This is a great race for runners looking to complete a half marathon or for experienced runners and trail runners. For the more competitive minded this can be a race to prove your hill-climbing chops.

This year's race will be held on June 5th, 2022 at 8:00 AM

The "Covid Route" was so popular that we will be bringing it back for another year! The new route means more time on the river trail, more hills, more gorgeous views, and more great photo ops. What didn't change? The Big Hill! everyone loves a big hill, so we made sure this one stayed right where we left it before covid, that way we made sure you could run, walk or crawl up 200' feet of vertical, with the happy knowledge that there will only be about a mile and a half left before you finish.

Our race supports our Local Girl scout troops who will be managing the aid stations and any donations and funds generated from race registration will go to The Girl Scouts, West Nyack Service Unit.

Girl Scouts is the preeminent leadership development organization for girls and the funds generated will go toward, community service and leadership projects in our community.

Start Times Half Marathon* – 8:00 AM**

The George Wodicka, Hook Half Marathon is an inclusive event for all runners, regardless of race, religion, sex, gender, or sexual orientation.

The Half Marathon  route starts at the Rockland Lake north parking lot, does a single loop of the lake on the bike path and then turns onto Rockland Lake Road. We proceed along the road through rolling hills south to Landing Road and then down (and we mean down) to the footpath along the river where we turn and head north toward Haverstraw this out and back sections turns around at the point where the trail widens and becomes paved and then heads back south along the trail toward Rockland Lake race up the hill and then with a right turn head down to the finish line at the north lot outside the Rockland Lake pavilion.

The 5K is a family friendly run that comprises a single loop around the lake.  The lake bike path is flat and for speedsters a great place to set a personal best, and for family and friends of all ages an easy way to get that New Years resolution under the belt.
