Postponed - Spring Duathlon - October 18th

New Date: October 18th, 2020

Due to Covid-19 we are limited to 50 people for a mass gathering event.  The participants from the Mother's Day Duathlon and the Fall Duathlon will have the first chance at being among the 50 people.  Please make your selection if you would like to participate at the event with the below safety guidelines, or if you would like to defer to the 2021 Mother's Day Duathlon or the 2021 Fall Duathlon. This will be based on FIRST COME FIRST SERVE.  THE FIRST 45 PEOPLE THAT CHOOSE THIS OPTION WILL BE IN.

Thank you for your time and patience as we navigate through these unprecedented times.

Event Guidelines:

1.      All staff and volunteer temperatures will be taken before they check in.  If they have a fever they cannot be at the event.

2.      All participants temperature will be taken before they enter transition area.  If they have a fever they cannot be at the event.

3.      We would have parking in every other spot so that people would have space to get their bikes off or out of their car without being too close to each other.

4.      We would have more bike racks with less people per rack throughout the transition area.  Rather than 16 people per rack we would have 2 people per rack.

5.      We would change the start from a mass start with 150 people to a time trial start with 2 people starting 15 seconds and only have 50 people at the event.

6.      All participants need to wear a mask from the time they enter the race site to the time they start the race.  We will have garbage pails at the start for everyone’s mask.

7.      We would have water bottles at the water stop and finish line and participants would need to take their own bottle off the table rather than a volunteer hand them a cup of water

8.      Participants would retrieve their own finisher medal after the race rather than a volunteer hand it to them.

9.      After participants cross the finish line there will be a table with masks on it so after participants finish the race they can get a new mask before they leave the finish chute.

10.   We would eliminate the race briefing in the morning and email everyone a video of the briefing before the race.

11.   We would eliminate the awards ceremony and mail awards to all winners.

12.   We would discourage spectators to come to the event and ask participants not to linger around after the race.

13.   We will have hand sanitizer throughout the event site.

14.   All volunteers and staff would need to wear masks and gloves throughout the event.
