Description
Here at Wolfpack Multisport, we’re a bit (very) sad that we couldn’t hang out with y’all at the Silver Serpent. We can’t wait until we can race again.
However, we aren’t going to let social distancing get us down. We believe multisport is fun, and we won’t stop until you do too.
So this summer, let's take a virtual road trip together around New York state!
Over the next 8 weeks we are going to travel to 8 different destinations around the state, but surprise, we aren’t going to tell you where we are going until we get there. Who doesn’t like a little mystery? It adds to the fun!
As with every race we do, $10 from every registration is going to go to the Pirate Toy Fund, this great charity provides toys to kids that are in hospitals while they wait for procedures and to other agencies where there are kids in need of some happiness in their lives. You can find out everything they do HERE.
Make sure to join the FB group HERE.
How it works
Each week, on Thursday, we will send you an itinerary for our latest destination.
The itinerary will include:
- Where we’re going
- Local attractions
- Fun facts about this destination
- Related history of multisport
- and of course... Course Descriptions
This website will be updated with the new destination for you to enter your race course completion time.
Swag
If having fun while staying fit, the surprise of where we are going, and learning about 8 great places in New York state and multisport was not enough for you, then wait, there’s more.

FAQ
When will I find out the destination?
We will reveal our destination the Thursday before our race week.
Do I have to do all the legs in one shot?
No. You do you. Break it up however you like throughout the week.
Add up the time it took you to cover all the legs in your event, and then enter that time on your runsignup profile.
Why is Leg #1 a choice of swim, paddle, or run?
We understand that options may change on a weekly basis, so we have provided distances for swimming, paddling, and running based on the average pace per sport.
Also, maybe you just feel like mixing it up. Go for it!
Why are the Triathlon and Duathlon categories combined into a single Tri/Du category?
See Why is Leg #1 a choice of swim, paddle, or run?
Why are these distances not traditional race distances?
Related history of multisport #1: The first recorded triathlon was in 1974. This event was devised by an endurance running club looking to introduce cross-training into their routine. The event went from run to bike to swim, and the distances were based on the geography of Fiesta Island (great location name for starting the party of multisport). It wasn’t until the formation of the ITU (International Triathlon Union) in 1989, 15 years later, that the format of triathlon was standardized.
Since we didn’t need to pull permits and no one is going to qualify for another race from this, we decided to go back to the originating spirit and pick what is now known as “Classic Distance” race courses, or courses that followed geography without extra out-and-backs to meet a prescribed distance. Out-and-backs aren’t fun anyway. (Side note: Some of these courses would be very interesting to get properly permitted.)
In short, these distances are even more traditional than what you are used to.
Why are you telling us the distances, but not the destinations?
One of the most stressful parts about travelling is planning, have you heard of analysis paralysis.
We are taking the stress of planning your virtual travel out of the equation. Also, we think it is going to be a lot of fun having you guess where we are going next.
However, we do recognize that some of you might have a coach to negotiate with for incorporating this road trip into your training plans.
Someone just told me about this, and I see this is more than halfway done. Can I still join?
We will close registration on July 31st. That is the deadline for when we must order swag. After you register we will send you the itineraries for the weeks you have missed.
When will I get my swag?
We will close registration on July 31 to ensure that we get all of the swag in and sent to everyone about a week after our road trip ends. This will include your shirt, medal and your keepsake to highlight where we have been.
