Have you ever said, "If a marathon was only 20 miles, I'd do great!"? Well, this isn't a marathon, but it is 20 miles of mostly downhill running, about 700 feet of elevation drop. Whether you're training for your spring marathon, or just looking to do a long distance race, this race is for you!
This is a point-to-point race. Runners will park at Fairport Harbor Beach and be bused to Chardon, OH for the start of the 20 mile race. Runners that park in Chardon WILL NOT be bused back after the race.
There is also a 10 Mile version that starts in Concord, OH, near the 10 Mile mark of the 20 Mile Drop. These runners will also be bused to their starting location.
Just an FYI... there are 2 train crossing on both routes. Going 10 & 20 miles, from south to north makes it unavoidable to not cross them. Use caution when crossing the tracks. Trains have been know to pass through during the race. Unfortunately, it's just part of the event.
If you do get stopped by a train, we will be happy to adjust your finish time if you let us know post-race.
Start: same location as 10 Mile Drop
Both run ~ 5 miles. Relay exchange takes place at Chestnut Elementary.
There is NO transportation available to the relay exchange point. Relay 1, the start, may ride the bus to the Start, but no transportation is provided back from the relay exchange zone.
