Description

The 2022-23 school year marks our 17th annual running/walking event, which helps fund a scholarship in memory of an admired and cherished West Side teacher, Karen Weeks. Karen taught at WSM from 1988 until she lost her battle with breast cancer in 2005. She wanted to leave her mark at West Side and requested in her will that a scholarship be established in her name. For the past 16 years, a scholarship has been awarded to a child whom the staff feels symbolizes all the best characteristics of a Montessori student. Our event is named after Karen's nickname, KDub.

Money raised through this event will go towards funding the Karen Weeks Memorial Scholarship and general tuition assistance. Thank you for your support!

K'Dub is an in-person event at the West Side Montessori Toledo Campus. It is going to be a messy, foamy, slimy, once-in-a-lifetime event!

You won't get a SMILE without S.L.I.M.E !

The 2022 Karen Weeks Memorial Scholarship Recipient

Third-level Goldfinch student Amelia Hackney was named the recipient of the 2022 Karen Weeks Memorial Scholarship. The K'Dub scholarship was founded in memory of Karen Weeks, a beloved WSM teacher who lost her battle with breast cancer in 2005.

Your support is what allows us to award this scholarship to children like Amelia who symbolize all the best characteristics of a Montessori student.

Congratulations to Amelia and her family!
