Description

Welcome to the 3rd annual Strides of Hope 5k Run/Walk!  This event will help raise funds for The Center for Loss and Bereavement. For over 20 years, The Center for Loss and Bereavement has served our community as a non-profit organization that provides professional counseling, support services, and education for families, individuals, and organizations dealing with loss and grief. Located in Skippack Village in Montgomery County, the Center offers a warm and safe atmosphere that allows for expressing and exploring those thoughts and emotions associated with the grief process. Participants may their pick up packets for other members of their team or party. 

Event Parking

All event parking is located at Central Schwenkfelder Church: 
2111 S Valley Forge Rd, Lansdale, PA 19446 (a 3 minute drive from the event location). Shuttles will be provided between the locations.

We recommend entering the parking lot from Fischer Road. There will be free parking available on both sides of the church. Starting at 7am, a shuttle will take you to and from Heebner Park, and will run approximately every 15 minutes. Shuttles will pick up participants by the entrance to the church. Please follow instructions from on-site staff (in orange shirts) for loading and unloading.

Anyone who uses a wheelchair or has mobility issues may reserve a parking spot at Heebner Park. Please email Marta at  mlawler@bereavementcenter.org if you have not previously completed a parking survey.

Amenities

 All participants guaranteed to receive a t-shirt (if registered by 3/15/2024), refreshments, water stations, and snacks. In addition, kids fun run participants will receive a medal!

Fundraising

The Strides of Hope 5K has provided funding for The Center for Loss and Bereavement to support their mission - being a resource of specialized knowledge and professional support to provide meaningful connection and restorative guidance for those impacted by grief. 

Participants have the option to fundraise individually or as part of a team and have the opportunity to receive incentive prizes! 

Awards will be given to individual fundraisers who reach designated fundraising levels. Incentives are:

$1000- Stanley Tumbler 

$500- Belt bag

$250- Ceramic Campfire Mug

*Fundraising deadline to receive incentives is April 5, 2024 

We are excited to share that the highest fundraising team captain gets a one week stay at an 8 bedroom, 7 1/2 bath beachfront home in North Myrtle beach, Cherry Grove area, South Carolina! Award will be based on fundraising standings on April 12, 2024 at 5:00pm.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

Team race registration fees are not included in the team fundraising totals for award determination. 
Available dates for rental is November 1, 2024 through March 31, 2025, excluding Thanksgiving and Easter, subject to availability (Dates are non-negotiable).
Departure cleaning is included. 
Guest will provide their own linens or can rent from a local company. 
No pets, smoking, motorcycles, or house parties. 
Travel is not included.

Race Awards

The Strides of Hope 5K is a chip-timed race. Special Prizes will be awarded to the following 5K finishers:

Best Time Overall (Male / Female) 
Best Time (Male / Female): UNDER 18 
Best Time (Male / Female): 18-30
Best Time (Male / Female): 31-40
Best Time (Male / Female): 41-50 
Best Time (Male / Female): 51-65
Best Time (Male / Female): 65+ 
The "Gracie Award": 1st place Dog

Entry Fees

DEADLINE TO REGISTER IS 4/13/2024 at 8:00am

$40 for 5K Walk/Run and 1 Mile Fun Walk  ($35 if registered before 2/1/2024)  
$20 for Kids Fun Run 

Day-of Registration will be $45!

Memorial Add-On

Honor the memory of someone with Memorial Photo Dedication Sign. For a $100 donation, you can honor and celebrate the life of a cherished person who has passed away.
