The Galeton Pumpkin Pie 1/2 Marathon & 5k

Location: Galeton PA High School Address- 27 Bridge Street, Galeton, PA 16922

Dates: Saturday, September 26th 2020

Time: 1/2 Marathon 8AM 5k 8:10AM

Parking:  Galeton High School Parking Lot

Courses:  1/2 Marathon will start/finish at the High School making a loop through town on Historic route 6, right down through the famous Galeton Fall Festival and then out onto W. Branch rd and back.  It will be a fairly easy course with Approx: 500 ft of elevation change!!  The 5k will also start and stop at the High School Making a Loop Through Town!!

Fall Fest:  This Event will run in conjunction with Galeton's Famous Fall Festival!! 

Pie Eating Contest: Will Start at high noon 12PM!! Fee: $10

Contest Rules:
• No hands can be used.
• The first person to finish his/her pie and stand up will be declared the winner!
• In the event of a tie-more than one first place winner will be selected.
• Any visible signs of sickness will cause disqualification.
• A completed registration form with acknowledgement of the waiver must be signed by all contestants prior to the start of each contest. Children under 18 must also have a parent or guardian present, and must also have a parent or guardian’s signature on their registration form.

Terrain:  Paved Streets

Bib Pickup & Registration:  Will be Race Morning starting at 6:30AM
                                                                                                              

Aid Stations: There will be stations w/first aid, water and Gatorade approximately every two miles for the 1/2 Marathon course. (Some may even have a few treats!!) We will also have Paramedics and Porta Pots on the course. 

FEES:  1/2 Marathon- $50 Until March 1st, $55 April 1st, $65 until June 1st, $75 August 1st, $80 Until and on Race Day        5k-$22 Until March 1st, $25 April 1st, $30 June 1st, $35 up to and on Race Day      1 Mile Walk- $10   Pie Eating Contest- $10

Amenities:  Race Themed Finisher's Medal, Tech Shirt, Pumpkin Pie and Cider post race!!

Awards:   "VERY UNIQUE race themed awards" Top 3 Male & Female to go with top masters Male & Female (40+.) There will also be age group awards for both male and female runners.

Team Awards:  Awards to the top 2 teams with the most participants

Age Groups:  (Both 1/2  & 5K) -19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34,35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+

T-Shirts:  Amazing race themed Short sleeve tech shirt!!

Finisher’s Medals:  Unique Medals pertaining to the Race Theme will be awarded to all Participants in both the 1/2 marathon and 5k!!  

Time Limit: 1/2 marathon-  4 1/2 Hours

Finish Line/After Party: There will be a live DJ/Entertainer at the start/finish area during the duration of the races!! 

Galeton PA:  Galeton is a small community located in the heart of Potter County ~ God's Country, The Borough is nestled in the valley surrounded by beautiful mountains and forest land, built around Center Town Lake Park. PA Wilds Series:  Four Destination Races all located in the PA Wilds!!  Races will  Consist of  the "Great Allegheny" Ohiopyle April 18th, 19th, Run for the Elk August 8th, 9th, Conquer the Canyon July 25th & 26th   Pocono Fall Running Spectacular Fest October 25th and 26th 2020   Participants that run ALL 4 will receive a SPECIAL Medal at the end of the year!!   **THIS RACE CAN BE USED AS AN ALTERNATE IF YOU CAN'T PARTICIPATE IN ONE OF THE OTHER FOUR**
