IronDog 5K

The 2020 race has been canceled due to COVID-19. We apologize for any inconveniences and will be back in 2021

The out and back race will be held on the Third Creek Greenway, starting beside the beautiful UT Gardens adjacent to the UTCVM Veterinary Medical Center at the University of Tennessee’s Institute of Agriculture. At the 1.5 mile mark of the greenway, there will be a turnaround point with water provided. The finish line will be back in front of the Veterinary Medical Center where water, sports drinks and snacks will be available! We’ll even have cake from Magpies Bakery! Top prizes will be awarded for the top 3 male and female finishers. Walkers are also welcome to join the race! 

Thanks to the generous support by the University of Tennessee, dogs will be allowed on the race course this year. Please limit to two dogs per participant. 

Parking for the race will be available in the veterinary college’s lots 65/66, directly behind the college buildings. Please do not park in the specially marked client parking space (in front of the Veterinary Medical Center.) Packet pickup will be from 7:00 am to 8:30 am on Race day! 

The Veterinary Medical Center’s Emergency and Critical Care services work with veterinarians throughout Knoxville and the surrounding area to help manage the needs of small and exotic animals. The proceeds from this race will be used to help in the care of critically ill dogs, cats and exotic animals that are being treated at the Veterinary Medical Center. ​
