Race Week Info
SOFA INC was created because during the years of Archie's struggles. I (Lauri badura) had a folder called Saving Archie, filled with recovery and treatment options and help our family explored. The day he died on May 15th, 2014, my sister saw the folder and change this folder to read, Saving Others For Archie, stating that his death would not be in vain.
The course starts downtown at the new Village Green park overlooking Fowler Lake. Runners follow the isthmus between Fowler Lake & Lac La Belle before entering a neighborhood for a quick lap before returning to the Village Green. This is a flat and fast course.
Saving Others For Archie, SOFA INC., the grassroots organization founded in 2014 by a mother whose son Archie, died of an accidental overdose—she vowed to help other families and not let Archie’s death be in vain. Saving Others For Archie, SOFA, is leading the way. We listen to people’s unmet needs. We find solutions to help others and offer hope.
SOFA is leading the way to the furtherance of awareness around substance abuse disorder, and the relationship between addiction and mental health issues. They provide the comforting EPIDEMIC PRAYER CARD of HOPE to empower those in need across our nation to join in prayer end to the epidemic. SOFA funds are used to support those in need for a month of sober living, typically costings $750.00, as well as supply funds to organizations making a difference providing mental health and suicide support.
We bring awareness and education surrounding new legislation to save lives!
The SOFA Act is designed to save lives by cutting off access to fentanyl’s nasty ingredients and by helping prosecutors lock up the people at the highest levels of fentanyl production and distribution rings.
