Mayra

I am 12 years old, and I'm doing very well in school. I want to use my education to become a pharmacist and save lives. I'm confident that I can do this by continuing my education at the university and obtaining a medical degree.

A lot of my hobbies are athletic! I'm currently on my high school’s volleyball team, and I enjoy running and training with my friend, Ximena, to get in shape before the season starts. I also enjoy doing my daily stretches on my patio and playing catch. I’m excited for the 5K event. We are going to run virtually to win!

Juan

I am 16 years old and finishing my last year of high school. Upon graduation, my dream is to study mechanical engineering.

In my free time, I enjoy reading and playing soccer. I even play for my high school’s soccer league! During practice, my team has to run 6 times around the field, followed by squats and push-ups, so I feel ready for this race. We also often scrimmage against other teams. Once I graduate, I hope to make the university team so that I can play intercollegiate tournaments. I also really enjoy lifting weights!

Axel

Hello! I am 18 years old and I am currently enrolled at the University of Managua, studying computer engineering. I’m in my third year. I look forward to finishing my degree so that I can give back to my family. Anything is possible and I know I can do it.

In my free time, I enjoy playing defense for my neighborhood soccer team. My team trains on the fields near the high school. Training consists of running 2 kilometers, followed by stretching. Then, we practice kicking and passing the ball in different directions and angles. The team plays against other neighborhood teams and Axel hopes that all the practicing will help him make the University league this upcoming season.
