EVENT DESCRIPTION:
The JCN5K is Jewish Caring Network's Annual Fundraiser. 2 GREAT RACES, 1 GREAT CAUSE. The funds raised provide crucial support services to families when a loved one has been diagnosed with a life-threatening, lifelong, or serious illness.
Jewish Caring Network ensures that Baltimore families going through overwhelming medical diagnoses do not have to do it alone. Our mission is to bring joy and support to these families along with the knowledge that we are standing beside them throughout their difficult medical journey while preserving their privacy and dignity.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
How does it work you ask!! It takes approximately 7,000 steps to complete a 5K. Everyone’s stride is different so this is just an average. During the week of June 12th – 19th, participants can email their best time completing 7,000 steps to JCN5K@JewishCaringNetwork.org. A snapshot of the distance and time would be best. There are multiple apps and devices that can record both. Participants can complete the distance in whichever way they choose (ex: treadmill, walking around the house, up and down stairs, jumping jacks, in the backyard, etc.). We will allow people to submit times on their honor and we will award medals in all categories to top finishers.
Please note that this is self-coordinated with no chip-timing or overseeing staff/coordinators. You can download an app or use any device that tracks your distance and time. All you have to do is email a snapshot of your results. The ones with the best times will be awarded first, second and third place awards.

Each dollar makes a difference and we can't do it without your help!
We have awesome prizes for your fundraising efforts. To be eligible you need to raise the required donation amounts before June 19th. Donations need to appear on your fundraising page to qualify.
*Please Note: Once a donation has been placed on a participant’s fundraising page, it cannot be transferred to another participant. Fundraising Prizes are determined and distributed based on the total on a participant’s fundraising page and not on family totals.
