Come join us for the 15th Annual Derby High Five Road Race! The Derby Running Club is proud to host this event at the perfect time to get your legs tuned-up for the Spring Racing Season. Both the 1 Mile and the 5 K are USAT&F certified courses and are run along the scenic paths & bridges through Derby's High Park. This primarily flat course encourages visual contact for competitors and spectators throughout the race.
There is a $150 bounty (for non-student athletes) on male and female records! The 1 mile course records are currently 4:36(M) & 5:11(F), set in 2018 by Daniel Yoder and 2011 by Amber McGown . The 5K course records are currently 15:25(M) and 17:34(F), set by Peter Chebii and Tonya Nero, both on a windy course in 2017.
The Timer Guys will be providing state-of-the-art chip-timing to provide accurate results. The Awards ceremony and refreshments will follow each race.
The One Mile Race will begin promptly at 8:00 AM and is open to Runners & Walkers of All Ages and Abilities.
The 5K Race will follow the 1 Mile at 8:30 AM and is open to Runners & Walkers of All Ages and Abilities.

High heat and humidity can be dangerous to runners. Therefore, make sure you drink plenty of fluids the morning of the race and at the aid stations. If you feel overheated or feel dizzy, seek aid.
Races are limited to registered participants only. No rollerblades, bicycles, skateboards, dogs are allowed. Noncompliance will result in disqualification. Course Marshall's will control traffic, but runners should use extreme caution. Slower participants and strollers are encouraged to begin toward the rear to avoid congestion and collision.
