Description
The Hiawatha Hustle is an event for everyone from the elite athlete to first time racers. The USATF certified 12k offers prize money $$$ for the top 3 overall, age group gift certificates to First Gear Running Co., and Finisher's Medals for all participants. The 1.5mile family fun run/walk will provide Finisher's Medals for all participants. Post race music by our local DJ, John Muir. Awards
Top 3 overall male and top 3 overall female finsihers in the 12k will receive $250, $150, $75 respectively. There is a $100 Bonus for the 1st male/female to break the Kansas State Record in the 12k. (Current Records: male-Wayne Strohman=38:08, female-Marla Rhoden=47:19). Gift cards to First Gear Running Co. will be awarded to the top three male/female in each age group in the amounts of 1st=$20, 2nd=$10, 3rd=$5.
Age group awards will be given in the following age groups:
8 and under
9-12
13-15
16-18
****According to the KSHSAA- Rule 20-we are not allowed to award gift certificates to any student in middle /junior or senior high school. Any participant under the age of 18 will only be eligible for a medal.

70 and up
All 1.5mile participants will receive a Finisher's Medal when crossing the finish line.
