Race For Recovery

The Race for Recovery is a 5K and 1 mile walk to bring awareness to recovery from substance abuse addiction in eastern Kentucky.

September is National Recovery Month!

Help bring awareness to recovery from addiction by racing for recovery in our second annual 5K run/walk—in a totally awesome 1980s style! Get ready to break out the Aqua Net, bangles, acid wash jeans and day glow colors and “Let’s Get Physical” as we celebrate Recovery Month!

*When: September 24, 2016; registration will begin at 8AM with the race starting at 9AM.
*Where: Route will begin at the Roy F. Collier Community Center; Inez, Kentucky
*Cost: $20 per person during pre-registration; $25 per person day of race. Online registration @ www.runsignup.com or paper registration will also be available. The form can be found on our Facebook event Page!
*Prizes: All participants will receive a t-shirt for registering (up to 75) and a special 1980s themed gift will be given until we run out! There will be finisher medals for all participants who finish the 5K race and special awards for top male and female finishers in the 5K.

Runners, walkers, strollers and children all welcome to participate! This is a family friendly event!

All proceeds from the race will go to support recovery from addiction efforts in the Eastern Kentucky Region, in particular bringing educational trainings and town hall meetings to our communities to provide community wide information about recovery, be able to provide care packages of hygiene items for those entering into inpatient substance abuse rehabilitation and providing transportation to inpatient substance abuse rehabilitation for those going and who do not have any way to get there. We are also interested in assisting families of loved ones in addiction and going to drug treatment to be able to get to visitations, treatment team meetings, etc. so that recovering addicts can have their support system!
