Please remember to make your participation count by registering first, then taking action! Race participation means more than coming to the Race to run, walk or enjoy the festivities. Your Race participation is about helping us to raise the awareness and the funds that will increase the number of breast cancer survivors through vital programs and advancing research. It’s about honoring those you’ve lost and celebrating those who’ve survived—and about embracing others in our one family that is ending breast cancer, together.
Additional roles you can take to further define your activities as a member of our 2018 Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure family:
Team Participant and Fundraiser
Individual Participant and Fundraiser
If you prefer a more personal role as part of our Race family, individual registration is for you, and still offers the option to join or form a team later. You’ll benefit from a host of fundraising tips to individualize your steps to being More Than Pink™, as well as prize opportunities and more.
Survivors and Forever Fighters
Indicate you are a "Survivor" or "Forever Fighter" (living with metastatic breast cancer) when you register for the Race and gain automatic entry into the ShopRite Supermarkets Survivor & Sponsor Breakfast (each Survivor/Forever Fighter receives one ticket for herself/himself plus one guest) and more “pink and purple” special experiences for Race season. We're also pleased to continue our featured tent experience for Survivors and Forever Fighters on Race Day, this year with some exciting new twists! As always, this special experience will be filled with opportunities for learning and interactions specifically developed for the survivor and MBC communities. Visit our page for Survivors and Forever Fighters to get additional information to enhance your Race experience.
Kids for the Cure®
Everyone knows that children are a huge part of any family—including our Komen Philadelphia family! This is why our Race has plenty of unique and meaningful ways for our young activists to make an impact in ways suited for them… and that also offer a lot of fun. The opportunities for youngsters include the annual Kids for the Cure Dash to Make a Difference, sponsored by Aldi, as well as youth-sized T-shirts (while supplies last). Learn more about the Dash and other opportunities for kids here.
Sleep In for the Cure®
Can't join us on Race day? Sleep In for the Cure is back by popular demand, offering a great way for you to be part of our Race family and support the cause. Register to Sleep In for the Cure and your Race number and T-shirt will be mailed to you (cost already included in event price). This way you can wear your Race T-shirt wherever you are, whenever you want to start the conversation about breast cancer. As a Sleep In for the Cure supporter, we also encourage you to use our online fundraising tools to support our mission.
Electronic scoring is available for runners, competitive walkers and anyone else interested in receiving an official time, regardless of your pace! Preregistration is strongly suggested as score tags will only be available on Race weekend if supplies permit. If you have already registered and need a score tag, please contact us for assistance at Race@KomenPhiladelphia.org.
To be eligible for performance prizes, score tags must be purchased and worn on Race day. Results will be made available on this site on Race day.
Support the Race or a participant, team and/or team member who is fundraising. Every dollar represents another step toward increasing the number of survivors in our local community as well as advances our bold goal of drastically reducing the number of breast cancer deaths nationwide. Donate online for greater convenience, and remember to check whether your employer offers a matching gift option to double your donation.
Please note: To ensure a memorable and safe experience for everyone, no walk-in volunteers will be accepted during Race weekend.
Sponsorship opportunities are available right up until May! But, the sooner you act the more numerous your sponsor benefits can be. So, get started now by downloading our Sponsorship Opportunities brochure, then call Elaine at 215-238-8900.
