Description
Run for a cause. Run with the Y. The YMCA of Metro North and the Torigian Family YMCA are excited to host our annual Livestrong at the Y 5K this Fall. This road races benefits Livestrong at the Y, a 12-week program that helps cancer-survivors regain strength after treatment. Runners and walkers can enjoy a morning supporting the Y by signing up for the family-friendly 5K course. Registration includes post-race refreshments and awards for top runners in every age category.

The YMCA of Metro North Road Race Series raises funds for a variety of charitable activities that benefit our community. Participants in our four unique 5K races run or walk to support the YMCA of Metro North Annual Fund and raise money to provide access to YMCA child care, camp, and health and wellness programs to everyone. In 2023 the YMCA of Metro North provided more than $1.9 million in financial aid providing all children, adults and families with opportunities to develop a healthy spirit, mind and body regardless of income.

The YMCA of Metro North is proud to offer the Livestrong program for cancer survivors to regain strength after treatment. The Livestrong program provides the physical activity and social connections that have been proven to help cancer survivors decrease fatigue after treatment and increase energy and overall quality of life.
Please consider supporting our Livestrong program. You can donate any amount, or please consider purchasing a personalized lawn sign. These signs will line the race courses, giving inspiration to runners and all who see them as a reminder of why we support such a program. The signs will show support for people who are currently battling this disease, those who have won their fight, and those we have lost along the way but hold in our memory.
