Run the Runway 5K

Overview
This long standing, fun community event benefits both the Boxborough and Stow Conservation Trusts. One of the Stow-Minute Man Air Field runways will be closed to air traffic and transformed into an incredibly fast, professionally timed “Personal Record Setting Machine” for our 5K race and free 1-mile “kids” fun run/walk. The National Aviation Academy will kick off the day with their annual free open house with aviation demonstrations, open hangars, games for kids, and plenty of planes to see, touch, and sit in.  Also, there will be hot air balloon rides (WX permitting) and plenty of food!!!  Celebrate your new PR at the Post 5K Party  Hosted by Jack’s Abby Beer and including BBQ, and live music!

Schedule

• 8:00 - 2:00 - National Aviation Academy open house (free and open to all)
• 12:00 - 12:30 - Free 1 mile ‘kids’ fun run
• 12:30 - 1:30 - Run the Runway 5K race
• 1:00 - 3:00 - Awards, after party, Jack’s Abby beer, Rob’s BBQ and live music!!!

Race Registration & logistics

• Registration and bib-pickup will be held day-of, beginning at 11:00am at the airport. 
• The ‘all inclusive’ Registration fee is $25 in advance and $30 on race day. Register by October 15th to be guaranteed an event t-shirt in the size you select.
• Additional shirts will be available at registration/pickup on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last.
• Awards given to the Top 3 Overall male and female finishers
• Awards given to the Top 3 male & female finishers in each age bracket:
  • 17 & under, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+
• All runners will receive a ticket for a free meal and beverage (beer for 21+).
