Description
The 3rd Annual Blackman Stream Alewife Cross Country Race starts off the On the Run event at the Maine Forest and Logging Museum, June 16th. The 8:30 start gets the day on the run--racers, steam-powered Lombard, and the sawmills.
The race starts at the museum property line and heads into the Penobscot Experimental Forest. The beginning of the race is on the gravel Government Road, then turns off onto nice old grassy woods roads. Support the museum by running or walking the race. The first 50 to sign up get a free t-shirt, and we have some unique mementos made at the museum for the racers.
Racers are invited to stay for the remainder of the event and check out the Lombard --that takes four hours to get up steam for its run. Sawmills will be running and there will be lots of fun family activities.
