Race Day Registration pricing is as follows: Sprint $90, Olympic $110, Olympic Relay $130, 5k $30. COME EALRY if you need to register the day of the race, it is very difficult for us to register athletes after 8:00AM.  This race has chip timing and you will be given a race bib to wear for the 5K and run portion of the triathlon.  Relay teams receive ONE chip that must be handed off in the transition area at the bike.

On Course Water Station:  There will be TWO (2nd one is on Olympic course only) water stations located on the run course.  If you feel you will need more water than this please carry your own water bottle!

1.     PLEASE REVIEW THE COURSE BEFORE THE RACE!!!!! DRIVE THE COURSE!!!!! Some people got lost last year.  It’s your responsibility to know the course.  We will have people at SOME intersections – but you should still review the course before the race. All intersections are marked with at least one sign.  We HIGHLY recommend you drive the course ahead of time.

2.     Wetsuits are NOT REQUIRED.  The water is above 70 degrees.  Some athletes will choose to wear wetsuits – that is fine.  But you don’t have to.

3.     Arrive early – parking is tricky – see more on parking below.

4.     Bring your own food, water, extra supplies – this is a small race there isn’t a lot of extra support, vendors, etc.

5.     Ask a friend or family member to volunteer on race day – ask them to email! Hug a volunteer and the race directors!  This is a 100% volunteer led race.

6.     Have fun and BE PROUD!  You’re racing in one of the longest standing triathlons in the world!!!!!! Congrats!!!

PenBay YMCA Sailfish team is running a small concession stand at the race.  Please bring some extra cash to support our local swim team! There will be drinks and baked goods!

Warning- limited parking. Please use common sense. This is a local, community event during a busy time of year.  Let's not get a bad reputation for the race.

NO PARKING areas include:

Kid’s Race, Sprint Triathlon, Olympic Triathlon, Olympic Relay Triathlon, 5K Run/Walk

The Megunticook Race Festival builds on the history of the original Tinman and Maine Sport Triathlon, one of the longest-standing races in the U.S. 2020 marks the 40th year of the Triathlon. It is organized by a group of dedicated and passionate local volunteers and supported through local business sponsorship. All profits this year are going to One Community Many Voices. This race will be a great, family friendly event.  We are aiming to put on a great race with chip timing, but will be keeping costs low in order to maximize funds going to our local community.  So that means volunteer race directors and limited race swag.

Olympic – Individual or Relay Teams

 Sprint – Individual Only

5K Run/Walk

Note: All distances are approximate, based on Map My Run.  The course has NOT been officially measured.
