Description

The Beth Wright Cancer Resource Center will be the sponsor of the 2023 Machias Blueberry 5-Mile Run/Walk and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk.  Join us as we raise funds to support the Downeast Cancer Patient Navigation Program which provides caring, effective support for individuals facing cancer—helping them to access treatment and resources throughout  their cancer journey.  Additional donations are appreciated.  All donations are tax-deductible. 

For those who pre-register, pre-packet pick-up will be held at the Machias Valley Christian School Parking Lot (the old Machias Town Office), 118 Court Street, Machias, Maine, on Friday August 18, 2023, between 5pm and 7pm. and on Saturday August 19, 2023, beginning at 6am and CLOSING at 7am sharp. 

Day of the race: event registration will be at the Machias Valley Christian School Parking Lot (the old Machias Town Office), 118 Court Street, Machias, Maine, beginning at 6am and CLOSING at 7am sharp. The 5-mile race begins promptly at 8am, and the 1-mile event begins immediately following the start of the 5-mile race.  Awards will be presented following the race in the parking lot of the Machias Valley Christian School at 118 Court Street, Machias, Maine.

Registration fees are as follows:

1-mile course: $20.00, or $25.00 on the day of the event.

 5-mile course:  $30.00, or $35.00 on the day of the event.

Awards for 5-Mile: 

Awards for: Overall male, overall female.

Male/Female age groups: 15-18, 19-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 60+

First Walker: Female/Male.

Awards for 1-Mile:

Top female & male ages: 8 & under, 9-10, & 11-14

PER INSURANCE AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS, NO HEADPHONES OR PETS ARE ALLOWED ON THE RACECOURSE FOR EITHER RACE.  Baby Strollers are allowed on the 1-mile course, please start in the back. 

IN-PERSON RACE: Health Screening: Runners must be healthy to attend and participate. If you are sick or do not feel well on the day of the race, please do not show up. We appreciate your understanding.
