Panther Spirit Race

All participants receive a Finisher Medal! If you are going to the parade after the race we hope you wear the medal to show support for our DeWitt Cheerleaders walking in the parade.

Kid's Race events? The Kid's mile race will be held first at 7:30 am before the 5k race. The dash is at 7:45 am. Every participant will get a medal. There will also be awards for the mile winning runners. 

Can I register the same day as the race? No, there is no race day registration. On-line registration will remain open until the night before the race, Friday 8/16.

Packet Pick-Up? St. Jude, 801 N. Bridge St. Friday 8/16, 5-7pm or Race day 6:45-7:55am. 

Where do the funds go? Panther Spirit Race is the primary fundraiser for the DeWitt Cheer Program. We think it's a healthier and more fun option than selling pizzas, candy, or coupon books. 

What about age groups and prizes? Age groups 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Playmakers gift certificates will be awarded to the top three places in each age group and also for overall male & female winner.. 

Will there be any activities during the 5K for those not running the race? We hope everybody will want to run or walk the course. However, there will be music playing at the start/finish line.  

Will there be enough time to get to the Parade? Yes! The Panther Spirit Race is organized so parade participants and spectators can arrive at the parade in plenty of time. Note: DeWitt Cheerleaders themselves walk in the parade. Wear your finisher medal at the race for support.

If you would like to support the Dewitt Cheer program, this is our main fundraiser, and get a free entry to the race donate $50. When you register for the race your entry will be free! Simply Sign Up and follow the steps to register and on the donation screen enter $50. ($20 discount applied during checkout. Valid until August 4th, after that a $20 discount will be applied to your entry fee) Donate $25 and you'll receive a $10 discount off your 5k race entry fee. Discount on donations apply to 5k only.

* Please note your must register for the event and select the donation amount during registration. If you donate first and then register your donation discount will not be applied.

Steps to receive your free/discounted entry: 

1. Choose Sign Up and follow the steps to register for the race

2. You will be routed to the Donation page during registration, choose the donation level

3. Your discounted/free entry will be reflected in the cart during checkout.

* Please note if you go to the donation page first and enter the donation the discount will not be applied for a free entry. You must register by choosing Sign Up first.
