Run the Pier Running Festival

Run the Pier  (RTP5K) is an annual running event held in Downtown Manistee. The race takes participants out and onto Manistee’s north pier and around its iconic lighthouse as part of a 5K and 10K.  For runners who wish have a bit more of a challenge a 1/2 marathon and Full Marathon options are available.  These races take the athletes on a beautiful winding run along scenic lakeshore drive up to Onekema and back for the Full Marathon.  The Half Marathon begins in Onekama and brings the athletes down the same out and back as the full to the finish!  Annual participation brings 300 plus athletes to Manistee from out of town. This year Run the Pier will be held on Saturday July 27th. The event will have a beer tent sponsored by Oberon - Bell's Brewing company's flagship summer brew.  There will be music, yard games and fun for all.  A kids obstacle course race will be offered the day of the race.  More info TBD.  

RTP5K was founded in 2018 as a method of raising funds for local  non-profits.  In 2021 the non-profit Run the Pier Foundation was dissolved, and operational responsibility was placed in the hands of NOMI. NOMI remains committed to the mission established by the original roots of RTP5K. Elements of the original foundation remain involved with the race and establishing the annual beneficiary.
