Thursday, November 28th, 2024

Start Time: 9:00 AM

Location: Pigeon Hill Brewers Lounge, 895 4th Street, Muskegon, MI 49440

About the Race

The Muskegon Turkey Trot has been a community tradition for over a decade. This family-friendly fun run & walk is the perfect way to jumpstart Thanksgiving morning.  Get festive, wear a costume and earn that extra slice of pie.

Registration

Registration is 100% online. Even on race morning. Make the line move quickly by registering in advance.

Registration - For each Turkey Trot participant, we request a $10 donation plus a food item from the Kid's Food Basket wish list (see the link below).  The kids fun run is FREE and a donation is not necessary.  The 5K is not chip-timed but there will be a clock at the finish line.  The race will take place no matter what the weather is.  Rain, Snow or Shine- we will be out there.  Stollers are welcome and no donation is required for the little ones getting a free ride.  We're sorry but dogs are not allowed at the Turkey Trot (insurance purposes). Repeat: no dogs except bonafide service dogs

Bib Pick-Up

Race Day morning starting at 8am - 8:50 am at Pigeon Hill Brewers Lounge.

Parking

Parking is available at The Mart Dock, Downtown Muskegon, and the City of Muskegon Parking Lot east/ across the street from Pigeon Hill. Pigeon Hill's parking lot will be closed for the event.

Course
This year we are excited to have a new course.  The start/finish is at Pigeon Hill Brewers Lounge. The route heads west on the Lakeshore Bike Trail toward Adelaide Point.  At the halfway point, participants will return back to the Brewers Lounge following the same route in reverse.  If you're up to the challenge, there is an optional "Turkey Leg" that will take athletes up and down the Coles Bakery hill.  Tackling this leg will add 0.4 miles of distance to your run/walk.  Reach the top of the hill to claim your prize.  The Turkey Leg is just after the turnaround and volunteers will provide directions.

Water Station

There will be a water station at the 1.5 mile turnaround.

Bathrooms

There will be bathrooms inside the Brewers Lounge.  None on the 5k course.

About our charity partner, Kid's Food Basket - Muskegon

Kids’ Food Basket exists to increase access to healthy food for children and families. Their core belief is that food is a right, not a privilege. Because that is not yet a reality, they mobilize human and financial resources to break down barriers that cause food insecurity. KFB services include the flagship Sack Supper program, sustainable farming, community food distribution and educational programming. They are working toward realizing a hunger-free West Michigan for all.  See the KFB food item wish list at https://kidsfoodbasket.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/058-wish-list-flier-4-23-English.pdf
