Mighty Mac Swim

The Mighty Mac Swim is an epic 4-mile swim across the beautiful Straits of Mackinac between Michigan’s upper and lower peninsulas, alongside the iconic Mackinac Bridge.  This celebrated annual event is both challenging and awe-inspiring!

Internationally sanctioned by the World Open Water Swimming Association (WOWSA) and a member of the Global Swim Series (GSS), the Mighty Mac Swim has been placed prominently on the world stage.

The Mighty Mac swim is held as a competition, but whether or not you wish to race, everyone who makes it across the Straits of Mackinac is indeed a champion!  Make no mistake, this is a “bucket-list” experience! 

THE 2020 WAITLIST

Swimmers at the top of the waitlist will be notified of open 2020 entries and will be given 24 hours to respond. The respondent highest on the waitlist will receive the open entry.

Non-respondents will be notified by email that they are out of the running for a 2020 roster position but will be reinstated if they notify the race that they wish to remain on the waitlist. Those removed from the waitlist will still get 24-hour priority registration status for 2021 (see below).


2021 PRIORITY REGISTRATION FOR RETURNING & WAITLISTED SWIMMERS

2020 swimmers who wish to return in 2021, will be given 48 hours of priority registration status before 2021 registration opens to the public on October 1, 2020.  

Swimmers remaining on or joining the waitlist following the 2020 race will be given 24 hours of priority registration status before 2021 registration opens to the public. Waitlist for 2021 registration closes on September 15, 2020.

Waitlisted swimmers who serve as a 2020 event volunteer will be bumped up to 48-hour priority registration status with the returning 2020 swimmers, all but guaranteeing them a 2021 entry.  See “Volunteering & Waitlisted Swimmer Incentive” on the website home page (www.MightyMacSwim.com). 

All registrations are accepted on a first-come-first-served basis.
