Description
The 36th National Cherry Festival Bayside Beach Volleyball Tournament has become a favorite for players of all skill levels. Games will be played on one of the most beautiful beaches in Michigan, located on West Grand Traverse Bay. The tournaments, which will be held during air show weekend, will begin with the two-person competition on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. The four-person tournaments and 2-person co-ed tournaments will be held on Sunday, June 30, beginning at 9:00 a.m with a teen tournament on Monday July, 1.
The Volleyball Tournament is one of the most popular sporting events of the Festival and fills up fast. Limited space availability for all DIVISIONS so sign up now! Be a part of one of the “coolest” events of the Festival. See you on the beach!

Volleyball Tournament Information
- The adult tournament is played on the first Saturday and the Sunday of the National Cherry Festival with the Youth Tournament occurring on Monday
- The four on four tournament features an open division for more experienced plays and a recreation division which features more relaxed play for newer players
- There are no substitutions in any of the tournaments.
- You may change the players on your roster at races@cherryfestival.org. If you need to change t-shirt please log into your Run SignUp account, click on manage registration and select the option to update your t-shirt sizes
- Saturday features the two-person men's and women's divisions. Play in this division is more competitive, and rules will be strictly enforced
- Sunday's co-ed open division is more competitive and rules will be strictly enforced. The recreation division on Sunday is for less experienced and newer players and rules will be modified to their needs.
- Sunday also features the co-ed 2-on 2 division which will be in a open format with stricter rules
- All gameplay is self-officiated. Tournament directors will be on hand to solve any disputes
- Four person co-ed teams must have a minimum of two female and two male players
- Four person team rosters may have no more than four players total
- Two-person team rosters may have no more than two players in total
- Five minutes after game time is a forfeit
- Captains' meeting is at 8:30am daily. Play begins immediately following the Captains' meeting
- One time out per team per game
- Tournament Director has final say on all format and rule decisions
