Edit: Due to lack of interest and sponsors from the community, I had to cancel the official “Soli Deo Gloria Trail Run”. In it’s place I will be hosting an unofficial “race”. No shirts, no sponsors, no registration fees, no race timing, no fancy bling, no hassles, no stress, and no pressure! Just a day to fellowship and run/hike the trails in God’s glorious creation! Feel free to bring goodies and/or drinks to share for a post race shindig.
The course will still be flagged and will only include the trails at Lake Lowndes. No roads! It could be 3 miles or it could be 5. We’ll have to wait and see as I figure out logistics. It will still be a cupless race without aid stations, so bring your own handheld. Awards will be given to the 1st place OA male and female as well as the DLF (Dead Last Finisher).
My son and I will be going on a mission trip to Honduras this summer. The original race was supposed to be a fundraiser to help get us there. If you are wanting to run, we will be accepting donations...whatever amount you feel led to give and ONLY if you feel led to give. If not, we would love to have you anyway!
Due to state laws I am required to charge $3.21 for each participant and spectators must pay the park entrance fee which is $4.00 per vehicle.

Soli Deo Gloria Trail Run is a 5 mile trail race that takes place in the beautiful Lake Lowndes State Park in Columbus, Ms. The 5 mile loop consist of 3.7 miles of single track trails through the woods and around the lake finished off with 1.3 miles of road. By trail running standards this will be an easy course, but you can expect some hills and roots.This will be a cupless race so bring your handheld water bottle or forgo water all together! The course will be well marked and will be great for beginners. Walkers/hikers are welcomed as well as your pets, but they must remain on a leash. Sign up by February 21st to be guaranteed a t-shirt!
Packet Pickup and race day registration will be available from 7:30-8:30 race morning. The race will begin promptly at 9:00 am in front of the parking lot to the softball fields and tennis courts. Park fees are included in the registration for participants, but spectators in separate vehicles must pay the fee to get in.
Custom awards will be given to the top 3 overall male and female finishers as well as 1st place male and female finishers in the following age groups: 14 and Under, 15-19, 20-34, 35-49, 50-64, 65 and over. There will be no awards ceremony. Awards will be handed out as the race is finished.
