Beginning in 2022 and going forward... we will have the Blessed are the Peacemakers 5k on the Saturday concluding National Police Week. We have always wished to have the 5k be a part of National Police Week so we are excited about this date change (even if we aren’t excited about the reasons).
The 2022 Blessed are the Peacemakers 5k will be held on May 21, 2022, and all registrations will be transferred to that date. Registration will remain open at the price it currently stands until March of 2022.
We will still be asking for sponsors so if you would like to be a part of our great cause please email email@example.com. Thank you so much for your understanding and we will see you in May!
If you elect to participate in our virtual event, you can select a race route of your choice (outdoors). The dates for your VIRTUAL run/walk will be from May 14th through May 21, 2021.
Prior to race week (via email), we will provide all the information you need beforehand to download the free race app to your smartphone (which you must carry while you run/walk). After you click start to begin your race, the app will send progress updates (elapsed time and pace, etc.) to your phone at regular intervals, then automatically record your data when you complete the proper distance and cross your virtual finish line. We will still have t-shirts and will have a pickup day(s) in Tupelo.
Blessed Are The Peacemakers 5k 2022
The Wives of Warriors (WOW) will be hosting their 7th Annual 5k to remember All Fallen Officers and honor All Law Enforcement heroes that currently serve. Special Thanks to the Tupelo Running Club for directing and assisting with our race.
W.O.W. is a group of ladies that share a common thread: we are proud, we are strong, and we love a law enforcement officer.
We will be honoring and remembering our thin blue line heroes with a 5k that you will remember forever. All monies raised will stay within the state of Mississippi to purchase body armor (bulletproof vests) for departments that cannot afford to purchase them and to help officers and their families in need, all in memory of Sgt. Gale Stauffer and Mst. Sgt. John Collum. In 2015 we were able to purchase vests for 16 officers. In 2016 we were able to purchase vests for 34 officers. In 2017 we purchased vests for 37 officers. In 2018 we purchased vests for 30 officers and in 2019 we were able to purchase 40 vests for officers and hope to purchase even more this year! We hope to have as wonderful an event this year as we did last September. Be on the lookout for more information as we plan and prepare!
This race is a special event that you don’t want to miss!
