The youth triathlon race distances are as follows:
· Red Course (ages 6-12): 50-yard swim, 0.8 mile bike and 0.4 mile run
· Blue Course (ages 6-15): 100-yard swim, 2.1 mile bike and 0.6 mile run
Pre-race meeting will review the flow of transition area and also a review of your heat assignments. The race courses are well-marked with plenty of supervision. Swimming occurs at Bogert Pool. The biking occurs on sidewalks and gravel trails. The running occurs on the sidewalks and grass in the area adjacent to Bogert Park.
The first 25 participants will receive a bunch of swag from some of our sponsors.
Do you have a child between the ages of 9 and 13 interested in the sport of triathlon? If so, this camp is perfect for them. Each day, we will practice swimming, biking, and/or running while learning about the sport of triathlon. Triathlon coaches will be on hand to provide a safe, educational experiences so your son or daughter can have fun while improving on the fundamentals of the sport. Participants must have a bicycle and helmet along with other triathlon-related gear. Participants should know how to proficiently swim at least 200 meters to register. They also need to be a USA Triathlon annual member ($10); go to usatriathlon.org for membership registration. Registration for this event closes on Wednesday, July 15th. Specific Itinerary for camp week will be sent to campers on Friday, July 17th via email.
