The Kids Mile will start at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 17 near the timing building in Kincaid Stadium. Park at the stadium or by the Chalet. Elementary school-aged runners and walkers will horseshoe the hill next to Raspberry Road before running past the Chalet (great chance for spectating!) and zipping down the sledding hill. Then they'll run the perimeter of the soccer fields and tie into the thoroughfare that brings them back to the stadium. The entire course is on trails that are moderately technical and hilly. Finishers will be rewarded with a Healthy Futures medal, a snack and water!
Because the mask mandate was removed in the Municipality of Anchorage, masks are not required, but anyone who wishes to wear one is encouraged to.
Kincaid Stadium is a spacious outdoor venue with room for social distancing at the start and finish.
Participants are encouraged to grab water and a snack on self-serve tables after finishing — but should not gather in groups.
Our Healthy Hero role model athletes will lead a warmup and join the runners for Kids Mile but will not be signing posters or gathering at the Healthy Futures tent afterwards.
