Description
Asheville School’s Student Council will be hosting a 5K race on our school campus to benefit the Breast Cancer Program at Mission Health.
This cause is near and dear to the collective hearts of our school community. Many of our students and faculty members have been personally touched by breast cancer in their own circles of family and friends. Last year, breast cancer took the life of a vibrant and beloved member of our school family. Jill Abernethy was a wonderful mother of four children, two graduated from Asheville School last May and one is a current freshman. She was known for her effortless charm and infectious, seemingly permanent smile. She bestowed an unwavering devotion and kindness upon her family and friends. Her positive influence continues to be felt throughout both our school and local community.
The 5K race will be in honor of Jill Abernethy’s legacy and proceeds will go to support the great work being done in the Breast Cancer Program at Mission Health.
