It is with regret that The Friends of Fort Macon announce the cancellation of our Mosquito Run. This cancellation is intended to protect the health and safety of you and our community.
Please join us on May 1, 2021, for the return of this fantastic 5K and 10K run, walk, or roll. The Friends of Fort Macon will use this time to source the best sponsors and runner’s swag for our runners.
The Mosquito Run supports many wonderful, FREE activities at the Fort such as summer concerts, guided tours, nature walks, cannon day, war re-enactors, the October Howling Hayride, and our Blasting New Years Eve.
Contributions lost due the cancellation of this event can be mailed to: The Friends of Fort Macon, 2303 E. Fort Macon Road, Atlantic Beach, NC 28512.
This 5K run/walk/roll & 10K run, held at Fort Macon State Park will benefit the Friends of Fort Macon. The 10K & 5K course at Fort Macon State Park is not only one of the newest courses in the State, but already proven to be one of the most challenging courses in eastern North Carolina. The natural beauty of this course is unmatched. The course boardwalks cross natural wetlands and continues through an early growth maritime forest and thickets. It also wanders across pristine sand dunes. The 10K has the added challenge of running on the beach beside the Atlantic Ocean, and is a run ONLY event.
