About this Event
Celebrate the 4th of July weekend by starting out Saturday morning with a fun 5k at Buckeye Recreation Center (1330 Pine Ridge Road, Beech Mtn. NC 28604)
The 5k is family friendly and is on trail and road. The trail was recently built, and circles Buckeye Lake, immersing you into nature on your fun run. The route is fairly flat for Beech Mountain making it fun for walking and running. With the race everyone will receive a white logo t-shirt to tie-dye after the race. Immediately following the race, we will be hosting a fun Fourth of July tailgate. Including hot dogs, tye-dye station, games and more.
Course
Our 3.1 mile course will start in front of the Buckeye Recreation Center's Falls Trail kiosk. Racers will follow the paved path circling Buckeye, back to the main entrance. After heading down Buckeye's driveway, and make the right towards the water plant and then the left down the gravel road to the Buckeye Lake Loop trail. Follow the trail until it leads you to our waterfront fire pit at Shane Outpost Park. Stay right, cross the bridge and continue on Buckeye Lake Loop Trail until making the left on Fishermans' Trail. Follow Fisherman's trail, taking all rights at every split until it takes you to Buckeye Creek Road. Make the right on Buckeye Creek Road and follow the paved rolling hills until Yellow Violet road. This is the turn around point with an aid station. After turning around follow Buckeye Creek Road back to the beginning of the road. Make a left and turn into Shane Outpost Park parking lot. Go past the bathroom, back to the waterfront fire pit. Jump back on Buckeye Lake Loop, heading back towards the Recreation Center. After the trail, follow the gravel road up the hill back to Buckeye's Falls Trailhead for the finish!
T-Shirts
Since this is a Fun Run - you will get a white T-shirt with the Sparkler logo that you can Tie-Dye at our 4th of July Celebration for FREE!
Parking
will be at Beech Mountain's Buckeye Recreation Center. There is plenty of parking for everyone in our Ballfield.
Day of Registration
Day of Registration will take place inside Buckeye's Multipurpose room. Adults will be $25, children 12 and under $20.
