EDISON SQUARE 5K Run to Cure Cystic Fibrosis

This is a run/walk event to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Charlotte.  Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive systems of about 30,000 children and young adults in the United States.  The mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is to find a cure for cystic fibrosis and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease.  Recent breakthroughs have given hope for all CF kids to live into their adult years and beyond.  All proceeds from this event will go to this charity.

The event will take place along the streets of the Winding Walk community which is on the western border of Cabarrus County (off of Harris Rd, across from the Skybrook subdivision).  The start/finish line is on Skipping Stone Ln which is located just behind the Goddard School.  This race is dog, stroller and F3 friendly ;).

Early registration for this event is $20 until March 1, after which the fee will be $25. Same day registration starts at 7 am and will cost $30.  Timing will be provided by Jack Rabbit Timing.  We will have race times and winners announced shortly after the last person finishes.

Event T-shirts will be given to those who register before midnight May 13.  There will likely be some extra shirts available on race day for those who register after May 14,  but sizes may be limited. 

Awards will be given to the male and female first and second place finishers in each age group and the top overall male and female winner of the race.  The age groups will be:  14 and under, 15 to 24, 25 to 34, 35 to 44, 45 to 54, 55 to 64 and 65+.  All participants will get a medal upon completing the course.  There will be a separate award for the overall male and female finisher.  Those who do not pick up their prizes will be available at the Edison Square Family Medicine office there at the site of the event.  

This event will take place rain or shine, but in the event of a cancellation, there will be no refunds given.

Registration ends at midnight, Thursday May 25th.  Registration thereafter will cost $30 and can be paid the day of the event.  You can print off a registration form from this site, complete and bring on Saturday with a cash or check preferably.  

**packet pick up will be on Friday, May 25 from 3 to 6 pm in the lobby of Edison Square Family Medicine (10030 Edison Square Dr, NW, Concord) or pick up race bib and other goodies the morning of the event**
